Stanley Dock, Liverpool

Building Consultancy advice in connection with the conversion of these historic listed buildings to residential use.

The property comprises mainly late Victorian buildings within the Stanley Dock including the Tobacco Warehouse, North Warehouse and South Warehouse, the former more than ten storeys high.

Working with the client, Richcliff (UK) Ltd, other members of the professional team and Liverpool City Council we have been evolving proposals for converting these Listed buildings whilst retaining the historic fabric.

Activities undertaken include scheduling parts of the buildings in urgent need of repair, supervising the repairs, scheduling representative samples of the buildings for long term repair including detailing the condition and necessary repairs to original cast iron windows.

Smithfield General Markets, London

Building Consultancy advice in connection with the redevelopment of this site comprising the late Victorian General Market, General Market Annex and a Listed building known as the Red House.

Working with the client, Thornfield Properties Plc, and other members of the professional team we prepared a Schedule of Condition and Work Required of the entire complex for use in evidence at a Planning Enquiry.

The building had been largely unoccupied for about 10 years and the task involved inspecting, internally, some four hundred individual areas.

Externally we examined all the elevations and roof areas, the latter comprising some twenty different roof forms. The Schedule listed every element of the construction and finishes, area by area, and the work required to reinstate the building to its former condition, updated to comply with current legislation.
